ur heritage...

The founders of the Newton Community & Healthcare Foundation envisioned a foundation that would facilitate and strengthen health care by developing permanent endowments and making gifts to non-profit organizations.

The foundation was launched as the Newton Healthcare Foundation in January 1995 as part of Newton Medical Center's mission to serve the broader health care needs of the area.

The foundation, however, did not limit its largess to strictly health care organizations. In 1999 the name was changed to Newton Community & Healthcare Foundation to more accurately reflect the foundation's purpose and scope — to serve a wide variety of charitable organizations in the greater Harvey County area.

What began as an organization with $3,000 has now accumulated assets of nearly $5 million, offering residents a wide variety of charitable giving opportunities and professional planned giving services.

But more importantly, the foundation is in the business of building legacies for our community.

Our Mission & Our Vision

"The mission of Newton Community & Healthcare Foundation is to strengthen community health care and charitable services by encouraging philanthropy.

"Its vision is to be the leader in philanthropy, enhancing quality of life in the community."

— Adopted by the Newton Community & Healthcare Foundation Board of Trustees
