Estate
Benefits Newton Fine Arts Association Endowment
Jacqueline recognized
the need for all worthwhile organizations," said Lloyd
Smith about his late wife, Jacqueline Smith.
"She was always concerned
with causes that involved children, education, beauty and
the fine arts...groups that sometimes don't get the attention
they need. She enjoyed supporting the good stuff in life,"
he added.
That's why it comes as no
surprise that one of the groups benefiting from Jacqueline's
estate is the Newton Fine Arts Association endowment at
Newton Community & Healthcare Foundation.
Earnings from the endowment,
established in early 2000 by Newton Fine Arts Association,
can be used as the association deems appropriate.
"This year we put some
of our monies into our general fund to cover the increased
energy costs we incurred," said Marilyn Musser, association
director. "But usually we use our endowment funds for
programming or other special projects."
The Newton Fine Arts Association
was founded in 1968, and has been located in the Carriage
Factory Art Gallery since 1983.
Newton Community & Healthcare
Foundation holds additional gifts, including charitable
gift annuities, that will benefit the endowment of Newton
Fine Arts Association at the passing of the donors now receiving
lifetime income from their deferred gifts.
"I feel good about
the endowment," said Smith. "And I know Jacqueline
would have been pleased."
